Post 3: A day to remember
I clearly remember that day, it was my first public piano concert at the University of Chile concert room, before the pandemic, in November, 2018. In that occasion I played Mozart and Mendelssohn, each piece was not too long but it was a very nutritive chance. I wasn't nervous before the performance on the stage because I had practiced and studied a lot for that concert, nevertheless I still got anxious because a lot of students showed up and I wanted to play immediately, but I concentrated on keeping calm and to breathing deeply. It was funny since me and my friend, who also played in the concert, went to the underground room to play a little before going up to stage. When we came back to the stage background, it was my turn to play, a great coincidence.
This concert was very positive and constructive to me, I played it with a lot of confidence and I didn't forget anything about the music, obviously I did make some mistakes like any other human however it didn't disturb my interpretation. But the most important thing, I enjoyed playing on the stage like never before and after this concert I've never felt nervous again, only anxious to play since I would like to play as soon as possible. The concert was carried out in a room called " Auditorio Isidora Zegers" and although many people were in the room, it didn't get full. I think that helped me to feel good on the stage, I can't be sure of that. Anyway, after this concert nothing was the same, the stage is now my objective at least one time every year.
